Curriculum

What you'll master across five modules

160 hrs

Car Exterior Washing: preparing tools, materials & safety; body-washing techniques; glass cleaning & water-spot removal; plastic-trim cleaning and protection; wheel, rim & tyre cleaning; water-beading and drying.

160 hrs

Car Engine Cleaning: engine-bay preparation; identifying sensitive components (electronics, sensors); degreasing and dirt removal; safe drying techniques; applying protective coatings to engine components.

160 hrs

Car Interior Detailing: vacuuming and dirt removal; carpet and floor-mat cleaning; leather and fabric seat cleaning & conditioning; plastic, vinyl and rubber treatment; odour elimination and sanitisation.

200 hrs

Car Polishing: understanding automotive paint and defects; rotary and dual-action machine polishing; removing swirl marks, scratches and oxidation; applying compounds and wax protection; final inspection and quality control.

120 hrs

Car Coatings: paint decontamination and surface preparation; applying ceramic coatings and sealants; glass, headlamp and plastic-trim coatings; rim and tyre coatings; coating durability testing and maintenance.

✓ Perform full car exterior washing on body panels, glass, plastic trim, wheels and tyres

✓ Clean engine bays safely while protecting electronics and sensitive components

✓ Execute interior detailing: upholstery care, conditioning, odour removal and sanitisation

✓ Apply machine-polishing techniques to remove defects and restore paint gloss

✓ Apply protective ceramic coatings to paint, glass, plastic and rims

✓ Select the correct detailing chemicals and materials for each surface

✓ Work efficiently in a team and maintain a safe, organised workshop

Course questions

What certification do I receive?

On successful completion you receive the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 2 in Car Detailing Operation, awarded by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) under Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources: a nationally recognised skills certificate.

How long is the programme and how many training hours?

The programme runs over approximately 7 months and totals around 800 training hours across five modules: Exterior Washing (160h), Engine Cleaning (160h), Interior Detailing (160h), Polishing (200h) and Coatings (120h).

What are the entry requirements?

You should be 16 years or older, a Malaysian citizen, have basic literacy and numeracy, and be physically able to carry out detailing tasks. No prior detailing experience is required.

Is this programme funded or claimable?

SLaBP participants may qualify for a monthly training allowance and PTPK study-loan funding. Speak to our team on WhatsApp to check your eligibility.

What careers can this lead to?

Graduates work as professional car detailers, automotive service technicians and detailing supervisors, or start their own detailing business. You can progress to SKM Level 3 (Supervision) and Level 3 Automotive Business Management.
